## Prerequisites

Before creating user profiles:

1. **The user must exist** as a KalturaUser in your partner account (created via `user.add` in API v3). The service validates this by calling `user.get` internally.
2. **The app must be registered and enabled** in the [App Registry](/docs/events-collaboration/app-registry-api/app-registry-overview) — the `appGuid` must reference a valid registered app for your partner. Validation results are cached for up to 24 hours.
